Kekula Adds Clever and Google Classroom Integration to Its AI Education Platform for Schools
January 30, 2026 — Kekula, the AI education platform for 3–10 grade students, has expanded its school-facing capabilities with integrations for Clever and Google Classroom, alongside a set of tools designed for teachers and school administrators. The updates are aimed at reducing setup friction and giving educators more control over how AI literacy is taught in their classrooms.
Clever and Google Classroom: Simplified Access for Schools
Schools using Clever can now access Kekula directly through the Clever portal. Teachers sign in with their existing Clever credentials, and class rosters are automatically synced — eliminating the need for manual student account creation. Students join through Clever authentication, with enrollment verified against their school's class records.
The Google Classroom integration follows a similar model. Teachers authenticate via Google OAuth, and their Classroom courses and student lists are imported into Kekula. Both integrations support automatic rostering, meaning class changes in Clever or Google Classroom are reflected in Kekula without additional configuration.
Schools connecting through Clever receive free access under Kekula's B2B model for limited trial period, with the option to upgrade. Google Classroom-connected schools operate under a per-school seat-based plan.
Teacher Dashboard: A Central Hub for Classroom Management
The teacher dashboard consolidates key classroom functions into a single interface. Upon logging in, teachers see an overview that includes:
- Action items — pending student submissions that need review, overdue assignments, and other items requiring attention.
- Quick actions — shortcuts to create or manage units, browse available courses, and access analytics.
- Classroom overview — synced class lists from Clever or Google Classroom, with student counts and enrollment status.
The dashboard is designed to surface what matters most — teachers see immediately which submissions are waiting for review and which assignments have passed their due dates.
Assignments: Create, Assign, and Review
Teachers can create their own assignments directly within Kekula or use assignments from the platform's shared library. Each assignment supports metadata including due dates, point values, grade levels, and tags. Teachers retain full control over their own content — they can edit, publish, or delete assignments they've authored.
Student submissions are tracked through the dashboard's review workflow. Teachers can view individual submissions, provide feedback, and monitor completion rates across their classes.
Custom Units: Flexible Curriculum Building
One of the more significant additions is the custom units system. Teachers can build their own learning units by selecting content from Kekula's course catalog — including lessons, quizzes, projects, and assignments — and arranging them in a sequence that fits their curriculum.
Units can also be created by importing an entire course and then customizing it — reordering content, removing items that don't apply, or mixing in content from other courses. Once a unit is published, it can be assigned to specific classrooms or individual students.
This approach allows teachers to adapt Kekula's material to their own pacing and instructional goals rather than following a fixed course structure.
Student Progress Tracking and Analytics
The analytics section provides teachers with visibility into how students are progressing through assigned units. Available data includes:
- Unit progress — completion percentages for each unit across the classroom.
- Individual student views — detailed progress for specific students, including which lessons and quizzes have been completed.
- Assignment statistics — submission counts, average scores, and overdue tracking.
- Classroom-level reports — aggregate performance data across all students in a class.
Teachers can drill down from a classroom overview to individual student performance, making it easier to identify students who may need additional support.
Standards-Aligned AI Courses
Kekula's course catalog includes alignment to three widely recognized educational standards frameworks:
- AI4K12 — the AI for K–12 initiative's five big ideas in AI, developed by AAAI and CSTA.
- CSTA — Computer Science Teachers Association standards for computing education.
- ISTE — International Society for Technology in Education standards for digital-age learning.
Each course in the catalog — covering topics from Introduction to AI and Machine Learning to Neural Networks and Generative AI — maps its content to relevant standards. This mapping is visible to teachers when reviewing course details, supporting lesson planning and curriculum documentation.
The courses include a mix of interactive lessons, quizzes, and hands-on projects. Content is structured to progress from foundational concepts to more advanced topics, and is designed for use across elementary through high school grade levels.
