Okay, you already know what AI is. But here's the cool part — there isn't just one kind. There are actually four, and each one has a totally different job. Ready to meet them?
First up — meet the Sorter. Its whole job is to look at something and slap a label on it. Cat or dog? Spam or not spam? It's basically the world's fastest sticker-sticker.
Watch this. An email goes in — out comes "spam." A photo goes in — out comes "cat." A tweet goes in — out comes "happy." Same idea every time. Pick the right bucket.
Next up — the Guesser. This one doesn't pick labels. It spits out a number. How hot will it be tomorrow? What's this house worth? It looks at patterns and takes its best shot.
See how it works? Today's weather plus last week's data — out pops 72 degrees. House details go in — out comes a price. It's not magic, it's just spotting patterns and predicting the next number.
Now this one's the showstopper — the Creator. Show it tons of examples, and it makes brand-new stuff that's like them but never existed before. ChatGPT, Midjourney, Suno — yeah, those are all Creators.
Look — you type a tiny prompt like "poem about Mars," and BOOM, a fresh poem appears. Ask for a fox in a spacesuit, and you get a picture nobody's ever seen. That thing didn't exist five seconds ago. Wild, right?
And finally — the Doer. This one doesn't just answer questions. It actually DOES stuff. Drives cars. Plays chess. Folds your laundry. It picks an action and goes for it.
Here's the loop. The Doer looks at the road, decides — turn left fifteen degrees. Looks at the chess board, decides — move the pawn. Then the world changes, and it has to look again. Over and over.
Now here's the secret. All four of these — Sorter, Guesser, Creator, Doer — they're built from the same parts inside. Neurons, weights, that learning loop you already know. We just ask each one a different question.
Okay, your turn to play detective. I'll show you a task someone wants AI to do — you tell me which kind it is. Sorter, Guesser, Creator, or Doer? Take your time, there's no clock.
Quick recap. Sorters pick a label. Guessers predict a number. Creators make new stuff. Doers take actions. Same brain underneath, four totally different jobs. Pretty neat, huh?
Out of all four, there's one everyone's freaking out about right now — the Creator. That's what people mean when they say "GenAI." And next, we're gonna pop the hood and see how it actually pulls off that magic trick.
