Hey, before we get into the AI stuff, let's just play. A simple game. Stick with me — by the end, you'll spot the exact same trick AI uses to learn.
Meet your friend up there. They've picked a secret number — could be anything from 1 to 100. They're not telling. Your job? Figure out what it is.
Here are the only rules. You shout out a number, and they say one of three things — too high, too low, or you got it. That's it. No other clues. Sounds tough, right?
Watch this. You start right in the middle — 50. Too high! And just like that, half the numbers are gone. Poof. You don't know the answer yet, but you know a LOT more than you did a second ago.
Okay, smart move — go to the middle of what's left. You try 25. Too low this time. So the number is hiding between 26 and 49. See how the green strip is getting smaller? You're closing in.
Look — see how each bar is half the size of the one before it? That's the trick. Every smart guess slices the leftover numbers in half. From 100 possibilities all the way down to 1, super fast.
Count those halvings — about seven of them. Which means no matter which number your friend picked, you can crack it in around seven tries. Don't believe me? Cool. Try it yourself.

Remember the box with knobs from before? Same idea. The computer twists a knob, peeks at how wrong the answer is, and tries again. Watch that wrong-ness number tick down — that's it learning, right now.
Now flip the slider and watch the computer play the same game. It uses your trick — middle, halve, middle, halve. Every single time, it nails the number in seven moves. Boring, right? But it always works.
